Event Details:
Leimert Park Village welcomed the community for a free Juneteenth celebration honoring freedom, culture, and resilience. Families, artists, vendors, and neighbors gathered for a day of music, cultural performances, food, family-friendly activities, community resources, and guest speakers.
Playing for Keeps brought soccer into the celebration with a pop-up play space where children could step onto temporary turf, pick up a ball, and play. The activity offered a welcoming way for kids to move, try soccer, and enjoy the game as part of the community gathering.
Organizer Information:
The Leimert Juneteenth Community Celebration invited the public to gather in one of Los Angeles’ historic Black cultural districts for a day of unity, reflection, and celebration. Through music, cultural performances, local food and vendors, family-friendly activities, community resources, and guest speakers, the event honored the meaning of Juneteenth and celebrated the culture and resilience of the community.
This free celebration was open to the public.
