From pavement to policy.

Creating equitable access to play requires more than good intentions. It requires strategic investment, evidence-based policy, strong partnerships, and a long-term commitment to the communities we serve. Playing for Keeps works across three interconnected areas to build the change that lasts.

Fields of the Future

Three Ways We Help

We Fund and Build

Through the Playing for Keeps Foundation, we raise money to install high-quality synthetic turf fields in underserved communities. We identify high-need sites, partner with municipalities and school districts, and design every installation for long-term community use. Our preferred surface — Pivot Turf — is manufactured without added PFAS and without rubber infill, with investment in full recycling infrastructure. This is what responsible, modern turf looks like.

We Advocate

Through the Playing for Keeps Association, we engage policymakers at every level — from city councils to state legislatures. We bring science, equity data, and firsthand expertise to fight against blanket bans on artificial turf that consistently harm the communities with the fewest alternatives. We don’t just oppose bad policy — we help write better ones.

We Partner and Activate

We build coalitions with the nation’s leading youth-serving organizations — America Scores, Playworks, Vincent Country, and Eat Learn Play — ensuring every field we build is activated with programming, mentorship, and opportunity. Playing for Keeps is the infrastructure partner. Our partners bring it to life.

The Field of Future Program

Turning Asphalt Into Opportunity

Our signature funding initiative provides grants to schools, parks, and municipalities in underserved communities to install safe, durable turf fields. We work with applicants from initial assessment through installation, and connect every project with programming partners who will keep it alive.

Coalition Dinner Series

The Conversations That Build Fields

Playing for Keeps hosts an invitation-only national coalition dinner series — bringing together donors, policymakers, programming partners, and community leaders in cities across the country. These aren’t networking events. They’re where the relationships that fund and build fields get started.
